A saint was rescuing a scorpion that had fallen into a pond. Every time he lifted it out of water, it stung him but he would not give up until it was saved. One of his disciples asked why he was persistent in saving the scorpion that stung him. The saint replied: 'The nature of scorpion is to sting; the nature of saint is to rescue a being in distress. So long as the scorpion does not give up its work, why should I give up mine?

These lines made you crazy to read THE WHITE TIGER.

And our nation, though it has no drinking water, electricity, sewage system, public transportation, sense of hygiene, discipline, courtesy,  or punctuality, does have entrepreneurs.

The entrepreneur's curse. He has to watch bis business all the time.

The Muslims have one god.

The Christians have three gods.
And we Hindus have 36,000,000 gods.
Making a grand total of 36,000,004 divine arses for me to choose from.

The Indian entrepreneur has to be straight and crooked, mocking and believing, sly and sincere, at the same time.

The story of my upbringing is the story of how a half-baked fellow is produced.

Entrepreneurs are made from half-baked clay.

Every place on the map of India near the ocean is well-off. But the river brings darkness to India-  the black river.

You can't expect a man in a dung heap to smell sweet.

To break the law of his land - to turn bad news into good news-   is the entrepreneur's prerogative.

Have you noticed that all four of the greatest poets in the world are Muslim? and yet the Muslims you meet are illiterate or covered head to toe in black burkas or looking for buildings to blow up? It's a puzzle, isn't it?  If you ever figure these people out, send me an e-mail.

Slaves remain slaves because they can't see what is beautiful in this world.

Stories of rottenness and corruption are always the best stories, aren't they?

There is no reward for entrepreneurship in most of India, Your Excellency. It's a sad fact.

On the fifteenth of August 1947- the day British left- the cages had been left open; the animals had attacked and ripped each other apart and jungle law replaced zoo law. Those that were the most ferocious, the hungriest, had eaten everyone else up and grown big bellies. That was all that counted now, the size of your belly.

To sum up - in the old days there were one thousand castes and destinies in India. These days, there are just two castes: Men with big bellies, and Men with small bellies.

And only two destinies eat - or get eaten up.

Catch 'em young, and you can keep 'em for life. #for workers

These are the three main diseases of this country: typhoid, cholera and election fever.

The main thing to know about Delhi is that the roads are good, and the people are bad.

The wonders of modern science never cease to amaze me.

When you come here, you'll be told we Indians invented everything from the internet to hard-boiled eggs to spaceships before the British stole it all from us.

Indians are the world's most honest people, like the prime minister's booklet will inform you?

Any diseases, of body or mind, get cured when you penetrate virgin.

A girl began crossing the road in a tight T-shirt, her chest bobbing up and down like three kilos of brinjals in a bag.

The dreams of the rich and the dreams of poor -they never overlap, do they?

See, the poor dream all their lives of getting enough to eat and looking like the rich. And what do the rich dream of?
Losing weight and looking like the poor.

You were looking for the key for years/ But the door was always open.

The lion and the lioness were apart from each other and not talking, like a true city couple.

Let animals live like animals; let humans live like humans. That's whole philosophy in a sentence.

Being a man on the run isn't all about fear- a fugitive is entitled to his share of fun too.

Outsourcing, which meant doing things in India for Americans over the phone.

Once a servant, always a servant: the instinct is always there, inside you, somewhere near the base of your spine.

I'm always a man who sees "tomorrow" when others see "today".
